Mr Hunter 31
I was out with this lad lamping last week with a pup he had reared since a pup and he has actually done a good job with it and also seen his other dogs when he has came to our Lurcher club and all are in top shape. So he cant be that bad at rearingthem. However Sky i can see why lads are upset because removing voice box after only 3 days is a bit harsh. My pup was 11 weeks when i got him and kept him in house for week and he was like yours all week then i built my run then he done the same for 4 days when went in kennel but now he goes in on own accord just to get away from kids half the time.Just persevere and it will come good mate! c side 21
Its no good aiming this at me fella , you`ve gone about this all the wrong way . Firstly , i would put my brain in gear before posting things like that . Secondly , ide do the usual , you have to stick with it , its tough being taken somewhere strange for a pup . It can be hard for them at the best of times , just have a word with the neighbours to re assure them , and dont pay any mind to the pup , even if you SSSHHHHHHHHH!!!! the pup might think that its getting some kind of attention for makin a noise. Kennel it with the other dog , that might help , it seems to take ages , but in reality this will only last a short time , the water trick i would ony use as a last resort at this age . Stick with it , perserverence is the key . Quote Link to post
Kay 3,709
is the kennel big enough for a crate ? if so crate it , make it feel secure , got to be pretty scarey going from its siblings to a totally new environment , plenty of blankets in the crate for it to snuggle into Quote Link to post

jamie2004live 163
have had many pups and a few adult dogs come to my kennells havent had one yet that hasnt had a whinge on its first night its just normal, strange environment. theres a few tricks that have worked, portable radios on quitely work well. hot water bottle, and the old water trick as mentioned, even kenneling with an older dog i find is the best way. trust me it will settle down once it gets settled down and you get it in to a regular routine atb jamie Quote Link to post
Gripper 1
Aint milking anything mate , you were the one to fly off the handle , and start throwing accusations , backscreen soldier was it ?? Shame on you . I would`nt even give this guy the time of day , a 3 day old pup and he can`t cope already ?? So what happens when it needs stock breaking ?? What if it gets a bit dominante towards him ?? Will he get the vet to PTS the poor thing ??? Seems like another clueless dog owner , who cant cope after 3 days , shame , but it explains why there are so many dogs in pounds theses days . still going? talk about milking it and sky08 would you get your kids voice box removed for crying? because you have old people living in the road... infact if your neihbours are old, isnt that good because they're more deaf? by the sound of it your dog will be a hunting tool to you, and considering you went out and bought a pup you dont seem to have much patience and time for the dog, give your pup a bit of leeway it will learn Quote Link to post
