get 22lr and hmr. and you could allways ask your flo if you could ad 223 in in say six months time. your chances would be even greater if you went shooting someone that has centrefire. who could guide you

 

Jamie - I'm sorry but you are wrong here. Read your own post. If "you went shooting someone that has centrefire", he would not be able to guide you! Mainly cos he'd be dead!

 

Of course if you meant to write "with" someone that has centrefire . . .

People have asked good questions and made good suggestions.

 

For shooting powder burners start with .22lr, why? Because they're cheap, so the learning curve is inexpensive. The loopy trajectory forces you to think and learn to compensate, and you get to play with all our favourite factor, the wind.

 

By the by, Savage do a HMR with the exact same stock. Boyds make it as far as I know.

 

But the best question is, what do you want to shoot with your new gun?

i want one for shooting long range rabbits, foxes, and crows. I also got quite a fair bit of permission for foxes.
