They can live together most of the year with no problems, but you may find they fight when they come into season, around about may-august. If you get them castrated they should be fine all year, and as far as i know, it wont affect their working potential Quote Link to post

Aaron. It doesn't sound good if he is making a kind of wheezing noise, i've never had any of mine make it, although i did have one that used to sneeze all the time, but never seemed ill in any other way, maybe better off getting a check at the vets. Aaron_butcher 17
He seems pretty healthy but the people that had him before me neglected them a bit. Do I need a specialist vet or do the high street vets deal with ferrets? Quote Link to post
Halfinch 51
Most vets should be ok with ferrets. Quote Link to post

Aaron_butcher 17
not all the time, just short bursts every now and then. I thought it may be when he's annoyed as he mainly does it when squabbling over food or when I handle him (not been handled much by last owner). Quote Link to post

Ahh, probably no problem then, i thought you meant he did it all the time, it sounds like an aggression thing, i have one of my jills makes a kind of almost growling noise when she is ragging a rabbit. Just keep an eye on him, but he sounds fine to me. Quote Link to post
