kiz 0 Posted October 16, 2009 Report Share Posted October 16, 2009 (edited) Noticed the patti was holding back on one of her back legs so took the to the vets yesterday and advised to bring her back today for x rays. Had x rays and showed problem with hip and best treatment was removal which vet has now done. Vet says everything should be ok, other than laid up for 6 weeks, anyone else had a dog that needed this treament and were they ok? skycat 6,173 Posted October 16, 2009 Report Share Posted October 16, 2009 Had one many years ago which had a crumbling hip: took the head off, and she didn't walk on 4 legs for a year despite swimming physio etc. Then she put it down again and was fine thereafter: I didn't keep her as she was bad news around other dogs, but I'd say that in a terrier it wouldn't be a problem. She still hasn't had her first season (8months old) and was hoping to breed from her in a couple of years, but as we do not know the cause of the problem looks like we will get her spayed after her season.
