awen 29
time and experience i suppose, time is the easy part but to get experience for the dog and owner since the ban is a bit harder for people just getting into the game yes ,especialy if you only got something like a computer screen to learn of ,nothing beats a hands on lesson . SEE HOW LUCKY YOU ARE ? Quote Link to post
weasle 1,119
i know this wont interest you bunny killers ,but this dog GRIT that was started at 3 months old ,when he was 2years old he caught 14 wild fallow in one night single handed pre ban .how many dogs do you hear of that has even come close to half that ,not many . The owner of that deer park must have been well pissed. Just out of interest how can a pup of 3 months who hasnt a hope of catching a rabbit, gain anything good from chasing them. How for example would you stop them from yapping? Quote Link to post

weasle 1,119
Lets say your 3 month old lurcher catches a dying mixie rabbit, how do you train it to defy its own strength pick up the rabbit and carry it back.Surely you either have to walk to get the rabbit or the pup comes to you without the rabbit. Sorry for being so stupid Quote Link to post

jake824 517
unfit is right in what he s saying. the man in question has a half cross but its malamutt mother greyhound father. and before u all mock this man and the age in which he works the dogs , he s kept dogs for years and knows more than most. very quiet keeps himself to himself and does nt brag about the catches but believe would put the majority of us to shame on how to start a dog.
