FUJI 17,156 Posted October 16, 2009 Report Share Posted October 16, 2009 I know not everyone works and those that do all don't get the same income but my tuppence worth on the matter is a fair price for a well bred pup would be a weeks wage..possibly £300-£400,some of the coursing bred dogs of this day & age are demanding phenomenal amounts of money even for "stud" purposes,a friend of mine enquired about a dog last year and it was £500 for use of the dog..if you paid that how could you gift them? whin 463 Posted October 16, 2009 Report Share Posted October 16, 2009 750 is alot for a dog 200 to 300 is a reasonable price for a dog out of wining lines i have forley cup winner sniper cambridge cup winer choko , and good well bred lurchers in m my line they breed typey and can catch game but would only charge 2oo to 3oo at most now there 20 odd years of breeding there and ive been offerd big money but will not sell a pup i keep , as for a fifty quid dog or a free dog well that would only happen bettween close mates , time you feed them clean them heat lamp socalise you need to get what you pay in and a prophet or your a mug in my eyes , i dont go to work for free so why sella dog for a pittance , cause good blood sells and proven stock sells Quote Link to post

matt32 44 Posted October 16, 2009 Report Share Posted October 16, 2009 i dont think people should ask more than 150 200 quid for a lurcher the advert the other week for poodle grey cross by typp ratcher for 350 was a piss take ive not been in the lurcher game for long at all but from what i can see unless its a well proven bloodline 150 200 quid and the rest is down to you they are a workin mans dog and should be available at workin mens prices the breeder should get back what hes paid out to get the puppies to an age wre they can be sold and be content to keep one or two dogs from that breeding Quote Link to post

bri1970 22 Posted October 16, 2009 Report Share Posted October 16, 2009 paying top money for the right blood is only part of the job,there's so much more that goes into the making of a class worker than just buying a well bred pup.i've seen plenty match bred saplings ruined by crap dog men. just to ad i paid 350 years ago for an import blood saluki pup,dog could'nt kill a hare in a phone box.my best ever dog was bought for the princley sum of quid..
