i have some left over fish but am noy keen on feeding them this because of the small bones, what do you chaps say.

cheers ben

Hi Ben,

A small ...amount of fish is ok, however as mentioned above.

They'll cope with the bones fine, there designed for it

Good raw fresh meat in the form of Rabbit or Chicken is a great way to keep them fit & healthy.

For me i find a small Rabbit lasts a pair of Jills around a week.

I keep the rabbit fresh in fridge in a freezer bag

I just cut up a couple of pieces around matchbox size or slightly larger each evening.

In regards to feeding pellets. Ensure they are of a high protein percentage.

You need to be looking at above 21% or preferably higher than protein.

Also try to avoid those pellets that list grains or corn meal in the first four ingredients.

These grains are hard to digest for ferrets.

Turkey, Chicken or types like this in Kitten food available in

different brands work well as they have the higher protein values.

Innova a US based product make an excellent pellet food for cats that Ferrets do very well on.

Not sure if its avail in the U.K

Also Eukanuba as its known here is a good alternative.

The kitten pellet mixes will always have a higher protein value as there aimed at the growing

of younger kittens..

All the Best,

Cheers,

Shaun
