poacher3161 1,766
I would not esitate in having a collie bred lurcher but NOT off of hancock ?? Not [bANNED TEXT] theirs qenuine lads breeding collie hybreds like some pups on this site were the lads only asking £60 a pup and both parents are workers.Ask yourself this would you sooner pay £200 for a pup out of non working parents or £60 for a pup out of working parents??atb dell Quote Link to post
brianL84 11
i had a hancock dog 3qtr grayhound qtr beerdy n a tell u what mate this thing was a machine. could run like the wind n as tough as old boots took everything. ano a lot of folk say this n that but i firmly believe that if you want a good dog u have to make it a good dog. if you r a weekend warrier then it dont matter wither you got a hancock or a plats it wnt be anywhare near as good as a dog thats out most days . i no good breeding is a good start but trust me i have seen dogs that you would laugh at and would put alot of your world beaters to shame. my advice to you is get a dog that u like never mind nybody els and what they got to say because you have to look at it everyday.and i would take anothe hancock in a heartbeat because the one i had was the best dog i ever had so i pesonaly dnt see anything wrong with them but its up to you Quote Link to post

Simoman 110
cant see what difrence it makes if the parents havent had the chance to work I would disagree with that sentence 100%, if you wanted a spaniel for shooting, a collie for herding, a greyhound for racing aor any other working dog for that matter isn't it imperative to give yourself the best chance available by purchasing from tested parents? Would you rather have a dog from parents than have done the job and proven themselves or two parents who spend their lives kenneled and chained? Doesn't need any pondering in my book. The number of pups churned out means that some will make the grade but im sure most dont................ Quote Link to post

mike white 1
I have a collie/greyhound which i bought from a gamekeeper who had both parents both from hancock , the mother was a good rabbiting bitch the father was an allrounder taking anything that got in his way and was a big boy to , my pup is now 18 months and is getting along nicely and picked it up alot quicker than my first cross deerhound/greyhound i had . All in all im pretty happy with his progress and glad ive got him. Edited October 16, 2009 by mike white Quote Link to post
