[bANNED TEXT] the lady next door has two tea cup yorkies and all they do is bark and bark 24/7 you can even hear them thou the wall .so going out the door today with my 2nd youngest milie and she pulls me up .said leanne can i have a word i said yes .she said will you be buliding a pen soon and a bigger fence i said yeah even thou we have 6ft pannel fence but got blow down last year .i said why do you ask she said becuse i dont want bailey getting bigger and jumping over my garden for my dogs i said well he wont becuse the fence is massive and yeah he probs could when hes biggr but we will be putting barbed wire up when hes pen is built .she said ohhhhh god thank for that i dont want my dogs eaten off yours incse he thinks they are rabbits .i was shocked at first but do you think she has a point if bailey get over the fence when bigger you cant even see tho our fence

hi leanne the first question is ibailey and millie aggressive to other dogs ? just because hes a lurcher doesnt mean he will see other dogs as prey some dogs do though and thats what you have to ask yourself secondly i dont think you should use barb wire what if bailey tries to jump and gets tangled why dont you suggest to the lady next door that yours and her dogs meet in a controlled enviroment ie both sets of dogs on leads this might help the situation though in my experience the yorkies are likely to be more aggressive try and socialise the two sets of dogs it might work good luck let me know what happens good hunting matt32

thanks matt millie is my daughter lol .and bailey only goes mad for cats and birds .when other dogs come along he looks at them but dosent go for them .think she was trying to be helpfull in her won way barbed wire yeah didnt think of him getting up at it

if bailey is well socialised with other dogs (as he should be) there shouldn't be any problems. tell her this and let the dogs meet and get used to each other.

if my neighbours dog barked 24/7 id chuck my dog over the fence let it sort em out totally non productive i know but hey,seriously though id have to have a word about her dogs really not on to be fair atb

get the dog 2 eat the yorkies then no barking dog is feed dont have spent money on a pen and he will know how til deal with a charlie

As already mentioned dont put barbed wire up! thats the last thing you want to be doing.

ive heard stories of greyhounds mistaking dogs for rabbits/hares so could b possible.

do a search on thl or google regarding barb wire and lurchers you'll soon see why . . .

use chicken wire or stock fencing if you wish to add some height with investing in wooden panels plus it wont make you look boxed in

Seriously speaking, you should make sure that your dog is securely contained within your own property. It is your responsibility.

 

It would not be out of the question for a lurcher to scale a 6ft fence.

 

As the owner of terriers, i would be very displeased if some irresponsible arse let their out of control dog jump into my garden and savage my dogs or damage my property.

 

If your neighbour does not address the barking problem, regardless of what breed her dogs are, do it right and contact the council.
