I have been very fortunate to have learned my Falconry from a very well known old school master Falconer. I am not P****D off at the fact that you have entered falconry, rather the way in which you appear to have done it. I am not against young people entering falconry if it is done in a responsable manner. I am not up my arse as you say! It does not give me a buzz that I can afford a falcon, the flying is what gives me the buzz, trained bird or wild it doesn't matter. I also breed, train and fly Harris' Hawks, AND You have still not answered my last question! Which was:- What experience do you have? Have you had any tuition at all? Or have you gone it alone and read the books and watched the dvds? Please answer truthfully! If you would prefer to pm me then feel free. Quote Link to post

airgunner106 0
Chill out man . Hes only asking why his bird isnt chasing pheasent not how to look after it. As he said him and his bird a doing fine it dosent sound like he would take on such a big responsability without any kind of training or help so just lay off. Anyone would know that you can learn falconry over night but everyone is a beginner in anything new to them so just stop posting if you cant say anything nice. Quote Link to post

Everyone has to start somewhere! But it is the general opinion of EVERYONE I know that it is advisable that a beginner gains experience BEFORE getting a bird. As for your comment! I'd rather be a prick! and keep the right than him risk killing the bird?????? PRICK! indeed!!!! Quote Link to post

I only 'offer' advice to those who ask. Any advice I give is for your benefit but more importantly it is for the welfare of your bird! If you don't want advice then don't ask! You can only expect to get a " load of s**t ", if you come across as a complete W**ker!!! Quote Link to post
sam1 0
the best thing you can do is do wat you do best and keep flyin your birds and keep your silly little comments to your self and let other people get a chance at falconry. (w****r) Quote Link to post

(w****r) Pick your rattle up and put your dummy back in! I don't mind people taking falconry up as long it is done in a responsable manner. Your the one who needs to keep your silly little comments to yourself. If you want advice then take the advice given. If you don't then keep your trap shut! Quote Link to post
EskdaleHawks 8
And just for the record. The missunderstanding between Jan and myself was sorted out via pm weeks ago!!!!!! Quote Link to post
liftboy1 0
Just like to put my foot in the door. I myself have done a lot of chatting with jan and I cant fault him. To be honest eskedale hawks is a respectable falconer, newbies dont go starting arguments that have been left. I`m sure one of you two had a pm discussion with me and I gave you advice and then seen a post on the for sale/ wanted section about harrises. So thats why eskedale gets f**ked off because no one listens. Quote Link to post

clive 0
If you don't really know what you are doing and you haven't got yourself a mentor what the hell are you doing with a bird? I find it incredible that none of the rest of you guys have said anything about this? You all seem to be turning a blind eye to the fact that it is this sort of thing that gets Falconry a bad name and you should ALL be ashamed to call yourself falconers. NO MENTOR? NO EXPERIENCE? = DEAD BIRD VERY SOON? hi dont mean to be rude but everybody starts somewhere and to bring the bird on as quickly as he has i think im doing really well,im just asking for a little bit of help or guidance on my birds hunting weight im not incompitant or useless at this the birds healthy and were both doing fine if you havnt got any suggestions or helpful ideas id rather you didnt post anything simply saying beacause i have no mentor im not good enough isnt fair, cheers jan Yes everybody has to start somewhere but what experience have you had BEFORE you got your bird? You can't learn falconry over night? You appear to be asking members of this forum how to do things that you should ALREADY KNOW! HARSH! my posts may be but I'd rather they be harsh and get my point accross first time that the bird die leaving YOU!deflated and upsett at losing somthing that you cherrish and have hopefully developed a close bond with. You will get another chance! YOU! mess up! and what chance does your bird get?? what weight was he when you first got him Quote Link to post
