Guest hyperion Posted October 13, 2009 Report Share Posted October 13, 2009 i only ever take head shots at pigeons unless they are sat on the end of my barrel!, as was this one i found sitting low in the hedge, i shot it side on through the chest at five yards! from the wat the pellet went in it looks as if the bird was sitting almost directly above and to one side of who ever shot it! the pellet had gone into its guts and the wound had gone rotten so it was like this for a fair while even though the bird was one of this years squabs, it still had blood feathers growing on its head and neck! with the ammount of birds that have been about lately id say this was one of the arrivals from france! ive got a pretty strong stomach but no way could i face opening this bird up to retrieve the pellet, the whole thing stank like i dont know what! head shot are clean kill or clean miss! cheers hyperion Quote Link to post
