Dont be offended mate as none intended, have you got a lurcher now?, have you had a few years experience with this breed ?, if so you'll not be dissapointed, but a Bull cross as a first lurcher isn't the best choice mate.

They can be by nature the hardest headed , stubbornest b@stards god ever put on this earth, and if they dont know that you, and only you wear the trousers, they will soon be boss of you; but if they know exactly where they fit in to your pack i.e at the very lowest bottomest point, you will have some of the best action you are ever likely to get with your pants still on.

Get a pup, put the time in, learn him his manners, whats allowed and whats not, and in a while you will reap what you sew.

Im really considering geting a bullx, any advice on these dogs appreciated :)

Atb Aidan

kept bull crosses a while now and saw a lot of good and bad at their work. i work mine with hounds , out with the terriers , lamping etc. first and foremost check the parents temperament. ie broken to stock and mix with other dogs etc. mine have to travel with other dogs and are running behind the quad so must nt even look at stock. next ask around to see what the parents are doing work wise. depending on the cross these types should work and finish the job single handed.if your happy with what you ve seen then try one. socialise the pup as much as u can with people kids dogs stock till they are 100 % steady with most situations.all the best and good luck with your choice.

Really appreaciate all the advice, iv been told by a few people, once you have a bullx you wont look back! I have found some one to go out with lamping, so will be going out soon to see how well they work for myself :)

Thanks Aidan

dont rush into buying one therses a lot of rubbish out ther make sure that sire and dam have had at least 4 or 5 seasons to prove themselves and when you go and see the parents do they look like they have seen work i recently bought a pup after many months of looking he was of a local hunt terrierman and so far so good just remember dont be afraid to ask questions youll know in youre heart when the right pup for you comes up im sure the lads on here will help you as they helped me all the best good hunting matt32
