best deer dog pre ban

The best deer dog I heard about was 3/4 deerhound and I have heard that size is a big factor in a decent deerdog .....Its a pity its all in the past I would of loved to have seen it ....

I wonder when the my mate had a 23" whippet cross dropping the fallow buck single handed post will appear

here you go . the one i seen did not do it single handed,but it done all the work for about 6 minuits ,untill a bullx bitch and a brave person got on the seen to help out . it turned out to be a gold trophy head .and the dog was only 21inch whip x bedy .

its hard to say what x cos theres different types that do the job but the best for me is one that downs them quick and gets the throat theres nothin worse than an arse biter that wastes the meat

 

 

Why how many neck dogs have you owned. MNany dogs grab the back leg and flick the deer, each will have its own catching skill......

Well my dog use to catch deer by running backwards and grabbed them with its brown star now hows that for skill ?? My dog was called brownie

I have never seen a dog taken a deer its not my thing I will stick to rabbits ....everytime there is a deer thread the vast majority is nonsence total utter nonsence but UNFIT written some of the most sensible stuff ive read for a while

 

 

I for One will second that MOO, UNFIT thats some great,genuine replys that you've posted. Nice to see some one stating the Facts.
