Exmoor Emperor

Recommended Posts

Dont know whether any of you had read the recent press coverage of this red deer stag that is reckoned to be the biggest in the UK.

Took this picture of him last year - thought that he would be going back this year - not sopost-17645-1255295413_thumb.jpg

Called him from two fields away and took this at about 40 yards - had to shout at him to stop. He stood watching me for a looooong 20 seconds before turning back to join his hinds.

so where is he exactly??

Do me a favour !! Do you want the post code? Is not Exmoor good enough?

Seen bigger in the wild? This ain't no park deer. Currently, stood up the tip of his antlers are 9 feet from the ground. If an average height guy (5' 10") stood next to him his shoulders would be level with the top of his rump.

When he stands next to a mature hind they compare to a great dane and a cocker spaniel. A guy I know who has been involved with red deer over 40 years in this area has never seen a bigger one
