Deker 3,478
Saw this one at about 200 yards to start with, he came charging at me to the call, kept dimming the lamp as he got closer and closer, thought he would never stop, he did eventually pause at about 45 yards, big mistake. The .22lr 40g HP sub hit him head on, just above and just to the right of his left eye, (look closely) he went straight down without a twitch and was dead before his body hit the ground! Saw 2 other foxes and called them both, both refused and decided to clear off real quick in the opposite direction! Hey Ho!!! Edited October 11, 2009 by Deker Quote Link to post

Malt 379
Nice one Deker. nice one mate, hav,nt ever seen someone call a fox in would love to see it sounds wicked , i always see a fox out on my shoot might try it lol , although i would,nt shoot it as i only shoot a air rifle . It's not difficult. Any sort of squeak will bring a hungry fox bounding over to investigate, unless it's been lamped before. Quote Link to post
The one 8,479
Had a few with the rimmy when we were out lamping rabbits if you hit them right it just pole axes them Quote Link to post

cyclonebri1 8
Oh come off it Deker. Youv'e read the posts on here. The .22 rimmy is not capable of despatching foxys humanely. That poor basil must have run itself to death, the 22 could never have despatched it cleanly, Meanwhile back in the real world, this is a perfect example of how a low velocity, limited range caliber can be the perfect choice for pest control, does the job, no overkill, and no distress to anything or anyone. The rimfire is a serious tool in the right hands and at the correct range Quote Link to post

Mr_Logic 5
C'mon, let's not get started on the foxes and rimfires debate, it's boring, it's been done to death. Deker, good shooting mate. Quote Link to post

John We were talking about .22 not HMR, don't get things out of context, rimmy in this post refers to the .22. Not sure what you mean by rimfires not being suited to beginers? , let any newbie try to get anything else and.........., in the real world of course.
