Knew about this ages ago if any feed products say animal derevitives and or does not list the actual animals in the feed ie chicken, beef, salmon etc then this can contain meat recovered from all sorts of places including euthanized cats, dogs, horses and anything else they can get hold of. Rules were tightened aftrer the mad moo disease but a lot of the base for feeds is made in europe where the rules are a lot less strict. Feed your dogs biscuits that have an exact ingredients list ie Skinners, Chudleys or even Wagg all these brands and probably a couple more have a clear list of whats in it. Stay well away from eukaniba and purina they are the worst and both were slapped in the USA so I'm told.

That's rank. From a week ago i've started making all my own Dog food. I make it every 3 days and keep it in the fridge. I started making it because alot of rabbits that i was shooting/snaring/feretting was going to waste, so i cut all the meat of the bones, then i dice the meat, fry it up dry, i don't use any fats what so ever, then i put a very small amount of ravy granuals in then a little bit of water. The end result is something that my JRT loves and it's basically free. I also give her some mixer pellets with it.

yep you cant get better than raw with the bones in ,why cause yourself all that bother dicing and cooking ,plus cooking it you loose a lot of the nutriants and is harder for your dog to digest

You're wasting a lot of time doing all that mate.

Just skin it, gut it, and freeze it (apparently three weeks is how long you're meant to freeze them for) then sling it to the dog raw.

Do keep up with the mixer and add cooked vegedables. Unless you feel like boiling up the stomach contents ,guts and bits of skin your dog will be short of nutrients . Rabbit meat is high in protein but not a lot else . There are tales of old time trappers dying of malnutrition because they though they could live on bunny meat alone .

as the others have said , RAW is best, also ADD fat  not take it away, dogs need a high fat diet  they use it as energy
