A Boy and his dog...

Recommended Posts

Well my lad and his dog have been together now for 4 months... :)

She caught her first rabbit in the cover last week ( she's just over 5 months now )...and had her first squirrel

yesterday, after my boy knocked it out the tree with the catty ;)

She runs cover for fun and will enter just with a point of the hand, and if she's squirreling she knows the crack and she's looking up the tree's...the two of them are having a great time... :good:

2 days ago though she had him in tears when he had her out after a rabbit straight from school and she went to ground for the first time and stopped in there for half hour...my poor lad thought he'd lost her and it was starting to get dark to make matter worse for him. Everything obviously ended OK...They still have a lot to learn each other

Top man for buying that lad a dog they will keep each other busy , if my parents weren't such arseholes they could have saved themselves and me a whole heap of shit letting me get a dog instead of getting in trouble, my old boy (I bought at 16) I had pts earlier this year probably stopped me getting locked up. RIP Gnash

The perfect partnership this is quit simply how real dogmen come about! Not reading books or scaning the world wide web, just one boy & his dog! Old school but all the real dogmen are old school FACT !! Bloody good luck to you fella!!

:notworthy: Fairplay to you for letting him have the dog and fairplay to him for getting out there and working it! I wish i had the same when i was young. As it is now i'm 36 and only just starting with dogs :icon_redface: tried to get my boy into it but he's more interested in straightening his hair and going looking for girls lol.

it definatley aint the rabbit...

Thats how it gets in the blood, i was given my terrier by a good friend 5 or 6 years ago when i was 12 or 13, i learned loads from that little dog, not just about terriers though, i learnt to be patient, how to talk to strangers when they commented on her, or what she was doing, or when to keep my mouth shut, amongst other things... that little dog will be his best mate for years... good luck to the pair of them...
