lurcher lass 9
nothing wrong with a decent whippet, my working bitch is a whippet x deerhound / greyhound, she'l take fur and feather i can't fault her,, the few flaws she has are to my doing and i know better for the next dog, she's patient ferreting dog and excellent day time moocher, lamping is a tad weak due to me not being able to bring her out as often as i'd like,, i'm working on that and she's improving each time. end of the day take your time in getting a dog, talk to people who have been in the game for years, for me a collie cross is a difficult first time dog as they have so much brain, grand when it goes in your favour but could be a downside too,, bull x though their are some VERY good examples of this breed there are also idiots who own Some of them so be carefull and don't be afraid to ask for advice,, whippet x make sure you get a working type whippet bloodlines as the racing and showing can be a bit light and nervy but like i say the good ones will do you proud,, terrier crosses can be great but again there are some bad examples of this breed can be aggressive and a tad snappy,, etc etc all i'm trying to say is don't rush, choose your dog very carefully,, see what kind of vibe you get from the breeder, owner of the dam, remember this is the first interaction your pup has had with people, you don't want a pup that learnt to cower or be nervous around people as you'll have a hell of a lot of work before you've even started!! talk to plenty of people, visit LOTS of litters, so your not tempted to have the first cute bundle,, the cross isn't that important is the TRUE working abilities of the parents and the way the breeder brings the pup up put plenty of work into finding a good pup and you'll get a grand working dog to suit you, all the very best of luck in finding your pup!
