justin 2
Lurchergrrl you say Poodles are extremely smart, hardy, game and fast. I'm sorry but I've heard some rubbish spoken about working dogs over the years but that takes the biscuit. JMHO. my mother in law has two standard poodles...one is carrying a bit of weight, lathargic and soft as you like...the other is jumping barb fencing, hyperactive, very fit with a good deep chest, will chase anything that moves and has an inherrent desire to fetch things back to hand all day....she is 24"tts pretty quick on the turn and very intellegent...to be honest, she does have a fault and that is that she seems to lack a top gear...much like most heavy half cross bulls (nothing against bulls here guys, just a speed comparison) but as we all know, you dont need as much speed on the lamp if youve got intelligence, but im pretty sure that if this dog had half grehound in her then shed be a pretty good alrounder...im not saying the offspring would be masters at anything, but would at least be a viable option ...why do you think these water dogs were so favoured by the gypsies ???as we all know, lurchers are mungrels, and owners oppinions are like a bag of pic n mix...all the best to all the people who took on these pups... whin 463
ye a debate is good as long as there fibre behind it , i did see a poodle at a bar one nite a tough dog him and my old dog luke fought enough to no the poodle was tough but ,i think it takes years to get the dogs you want so why would you start trying experiments if i want coat a good working beardie just local ,i think a poodle could be good ,but like all things it takes years to test , i sure wouldnt put a poodle over my old bitch or my saluk bitch i would be going back the way , for sure, just like i wouldnt put a show deerhound or greyhound if the poodle was good my mates who are keepers wildfowlers would have one let the french play with there dogs lol ,there enough mixtures about without more lol, all the best whin , saw enough in the last twenty year to realise what happens when messers breed dogs and [bANNED TEXT] books or stories in mags ,CHEERS Quote Link to post
