First things first, i'm not into multiple quoting so here goe's

 

Leeview..... You are obviously accusing me as being a liar like you do on a regular basis with other members on here. I wrote the report on friday evening just before going out lamping. I'd already trudged 8 miles the night before, didn't get in til 4 am then get accused of lying. Get a grip man. Yes there was a transit van and other lampers around the area. We made the best of a bad night. I would have cancelled the heat after an hour and gone and run it on my land had it been possible but it wasn't possible. The farmer wouldn't have liked me ringing him at midnight to tell him we were going lamping would he???. Plus i doubt we'd have seen anymore rabbits on there anyway due to the conditions. Thats lamping anyone with experience will tell you. On top of that your not even in the competition so why give us this shit???. I didn't come on line yesterday as i've got swine flu, i was made aware of the negative posts this morning and have posted accordingly.

 

Anyone who goes lamping on a regular basis will tell you one night is never the same. We were out on Friday night the night after the heat. We killed more rabbits in the first 2 fields than we'd seen the whole of thursday night, this was due to slightly better conditions, drizzle and cloud cover etc.

 

AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED THIS WAS THE LAST TIME I'LL JUDGE A HEAT IN THE LAMPING COMPETITION. All the negative posts are coming from members who arn't in the competition. The members who are in the competition are happy with the way things are going so far. Yes we would like to see more rabbits to test the dogs to the full but thats lamping.

 

I've been going out 2-3 nights a week recently to get my dog fit for the competition and we are strugling to get double figures on the nights i've been out. If you wait for the perfect night you'd never get out. We arn't all blessed with the land like tomo and we have just have to get out and do it simple as that....

mally where did I accuse you of being a liar? I said you did nt mention a fact that was later brought up How many members on here 35,000 plus and 22 decide to enter a lamping comp doesnt give them immunity from criticism or does it? Im not a politician but like anyone else I have an opinion and will express it through freedom of speech. I'll leave it there for now mally before I say too much

You can say all you like leeview, most of your posts are critising other members on here anyway. There's not many posts showing you actually out in the field. Do you have a dog you lamp with??

 

I only entered the competition to make the numbers up as it looked like it wasn't going to happen. I'm pleased i did as i actually work my dogs to the full and we'll give it our best shot. Plus i've met likeminded folk who actually get out there and do it, who don't just talk the talk.

 

I'm looking forward to the end of the month when we'll be running our heat against LDR and Bruce.

 

Everyonw whos' involved with the competition seems to be happy with the way its' being run and thats all that matters IMO

mally when I go out Im working the dogs not taking pictures, pictures of myself and dogs were taken of me by Flynn while I got on with the job, and I lamp 3 of my dogs ok and the others retired to just ferreting

Criticising other members if I think its justified I'll say so BUT you wont find any "nice dog mate" " hows it bred "from me as I dont talk the talk but dont miss much either

sorry to sound critical but the numbers killed so far in this comp are really poor cant you guys get some better ground to run on and make it worth peoples while to do all that travelling. I would be raging if I travelled to run a heat and only find 2 rabbits to run

Hi mate, as I've said previously, I would rather run 40 than 4 !, but what am I supposed to do; drive all the way home and go back another night, with perhaps the same outcome ? Just about everything from the weather to poachers conspired against us, but the 2 competitors and the judge agreed that it was a result, however poor it may have been. The comp would never get finished if we all waited for perfect condititions. What annoys me is negative comments coming from people who haven't entered the comp, running down people who have entered.

I think alot of people are missin the point, i was out last night on the exact same ground i ran my first heat on against LAT. We ended up with six that night yet i went the EXACT same place last night an walked off with 35 rabbits. . Its what you call lampin its up an down an those that do enough of it will UNDERSTAND COMPLETELY. Theres a hell of alot of people on here to to talk things down. The lads that are in the comp WANT the ground they are runnin to be RIDDLED with rabbits to show what there dogs can do. We dont need anyone else to point out the obvious If only we all had this permission where its a cert we are gonna run bags an bags of stuff. Its LAMPIN nothin is a CERT Hence the reason am out a couple of nights a week excited in the fact i dont no whats goin to happen. . . Do us all a favour an keep DAFT Comments to YOURSELVES if use have to be D*CKS do it threw PM That way use can all laugh together like a gang of BITCHS. . .

Why didn't you enter the comp then???? You have enough to say about those who had the balls to enter the comp. From what i see is this leeview your always on here critisising folk who actually get out in the field and do it. If i didn't have this swine flu i would have been out ferreting today instead of replying to someone who's critising a competition he's not even in... enough said i think...

there is no one more than me that wanted there to be plenty of Bunny's out that night but there was not

there is not mega amounts of rabbits on my permission but more than enough to run a 3 hour heat or i would not of ran it on there

thing is like its been said before i could not make there be rabbits out. i said sorry to CP and mally a few times on the night that there was nothing about

and i felt really inbarist to be onest but at the end of the day the heat was run and delt with i was happy and so was CP and judge mally.

sounds like a bit of organised chaos and no game and plenty bitching , ive been to lots and i mean lots of hunting trails spaneils saluks lurchers even one some and got placed in some , to have a good comp you have to have game and a central meeting piont maybe , and weather , recantly the last few years rabbit wise some places not so good unless well keeperd or well out the way , im sure there a better and more proffesional way to run it as a competiotion ,we had good trails lurcher events years ago and they seemd not to bad a bit lamping bushing and ferreting , when we used to run dog competitions we made sure there were game there not lamp it or hunt it have the odd look to make sure the entrants got sport ,if i had people to come up to mines and ive got land and you can stray i would no whats about before itake people on it roughly and make sure they are not lamp shy to hell , weather always predicts lamping etc moons a good walk , thats about it , and big bags mean nowt good catches decent retreive etc means alot to , hope it goes well ,weather and game is a must for comps to be good

I have over 15,000 hectares to run my dogs, and trust me there have been nights where i have seen 3/4 rabbits

all night.

Hi mate, me and LDR have already discussed next years comp, and theres a good chance it will be invite only and all comments, results, etc, will be kept to PM and not posted on open forum ! It would be a shame if it came to that, but there is just to many who want to drag the comp down.

invite only .then it wont be much of a comp ,just a few mates on a few nights out , so i dont think it would interest any one ,,just learn to accept a bit of crap and get on with it .next thing will be ,you cant come on this forum unless your a mate .
