oakey 57
after 40 years ferreting my two jills have got tics had to look on here to see what to do . i sent the wife off to the vets to buy frontline spray (the vet had to put down that it was for my lurcher as they cant give it out for ferrets ?)anyway ive been up to them this morning with rubber gloves on my daughter sprayed some frontline on my hand and i then rubbed it into the ferrets taking care not to over do it as the vet spooked me a bit by saying not to be used on ferrets. so heres hoping it works as im off to some new permision tommorw ,5 year set aside thats going to be put back into production once weve got rid of the rabbits ? stubby 175
frontline is good to have as it covers both fleas and ticks, but as suggested, get yourself a couple of tick pullers, good for odd ones or two's Quote Link to post
John-B 4
tick twisters are awesome, great bit of kit for a couple of quid. Quote Link to post
col g 0
one of my ferrets had five on its neck last yearand had never been entered in a rabbit warren that seaon.im guessing it had picked them up off one of the rabbits tat had been put in for it.i borrowed john's tick twister and they were off in seconds.these tools are well worth investing in and are worth every penny. stealthy1 3,964
You'll not go far wrong with a twister, the front line spray will knock the flea's on the head, so its a good investment Quote Link to post

I wouldn't of believed this until i tried it,just rub them gently with the end of your finger in a clockwise motion for about a minute and they just fall off. Quote Link to post

But they are really easy too get out and just make sure not too leave the head! We sometimes put methylated spirits on them too try and get them too let go Quote Link to post
