When she came the first time she mentioned i can see u don't have a lot of experince with a shotgun.I have had so far 2 one hour lessons and booked another 1 with a coach.I have joined basc and cpsa. I have no record no points on my driving licence a clean slate. Oh it's Lancashire i come under Quote Link to post
stubby 175 Posted October 8, 2009 Report Share Posted October 8, 2009 it must be areas that differ, I told the FAO, I'd never handled a shotgun, but I wanted it for pest control/humaine despatch of live caught foxes, unless me being a "pestie" had something to do with it, they issued my certification BEFORE I had even istalled the cabinet, just saying they would look when I bought my first gun Quote Link to post

Oh it's Lancashire i come under They have to have a legitimate reason not to give you a certificate, if they can't fault your security arrangements and you are not a convicted criminal then they have to grant you one. Owning a firearm is a right not a priveledge to be dished out how they see fit. I had major aggro getting my fac even though i'd already had a sgc for 5 years. There was nothing wrong with my application it was just that they took so long to sort it out. 6 months from start to finish, i hope i don't have the same ordeal when i put in for a variation to .243 and open my ticket at renewal time.
