BEARINATOR 2,867
It will be a commons slog (as you put it) to overturn the ban
Attack Fell Terrier 864
When Brown goes he'll go with me sticking my fingers up at him as he fucks off out of number 10. I hate the guy, I really do. No doubt there will be loads of f*****g about and us waiting for the Torie's to come to a conclusion, still its better late than never. John Keswick 119
LOL "if the conservatives get in..." If I had a quid for every time I have heard that! Even IF the conservatives get in, f**k all will change, they are just as bad as the morons that are in at the moment, they are ALL only interested in one thing, LINING THEIR OWN POCKETS. They are almost as bad as half the folk on here with the bullshit they spout on a daily basis, but not quite as bad No, I am afraid that hunting as we knew it has gone whilst the current politicians of this land have their grubby thieving sausages on the reigns. Only when the revolution comes will things change! And cometh it soon…
antg 1,765
very true John Keswick. nothing will change
Geoff.C 0
Very true John, nothing will change really. None of the current parties is fit for government IMHO. Regarding the hunting act, Cameron has promised a free vote. Being a tory does not mean being a hunting supporter. Enough of them voted for the ban before, so I can't see any change coming soon. jakeuk1 0
The only possible way of overturning the hunting ban is to vote Conservative. Even if they get in, a repeal of the hunting act is not certain. But if hunting is a massive part of your life, like it is in mine, is it not worth taking a punt and voting for the toffs? As for talking about a revolution? Edited October 8, 2009 by jakeuk1
coursing mad 5
well its worth a try a free vote is better than no vote i say

iamduvern 62
My understanding is that the Tories will give a free vote to the repeal of the hunting act so theres no guarantees also any anti MPs could prevent a bill going through Parliament I think that repealing any acts will be along way down the list of "To dos" for the Tories as they will have a lot to do to clear up the mess left by "New Labour" so I will not be holding my breath. But it will be worth while asking any people knocking on your door looking for your vote what there opinions are on hunting and repeal of the act

gonetoearth 5,144
THE problem is the hunting act as it stands has loop holes which mounted packs abuse , the have carried on in most cases as normal and good luck to them but as for the coursing lads there is no loop holes , the master of fox hunting association is all ready making provision for neutral monitors if the act is reformed and not lifted in full. coursing is another matter the coursing club have no plan of action the people that have really suffered by the act are the lurcher and terrier lads will the Tory's lift the ban , only if they have a massive majority , ITS TIME TO MARCH, ON A MONDAY OR FRIDAY BRING LONDON TO A STANDSTILL LET THEM KNOW WERE HERE
SportingShooter 0
From my understanding, Cameron is not going to put a Free vote through Parliament to repeal the Hunting Act straight away as parliamentary time is not going to be spent on this when the majority of other's everyday lives are slowly getting worse. Whoever gets in, their priorities are going to be trying to get us out of this mess, rather than repeal a piece of unworkable legislation. If it is ever repealed, then its going to be a long time coming folks
