outdoors kid 1
took my young springer pup ( 7 months) out yesterday evening for his evening walk round the farm but i thought i would try him with the 4.10 to see how he reacts. i got to admit i was highly surprised he was not phased in the slightest by the sound of the shot and continued to listen to commands i was very please with this. on the other hand i am having problems with him retreiving [bANNED TEXT] he was small he used to have it down to the button. was really good but lately he seems to jus pick the object up and then drop it again it seems like he has to much running through his head at once when he is the field will this get better with age ? Dave C 63
He is still young, i wouldn't worry, but you must wait until he has mastered all aspects of his training before shooting over him, as he will just get confuised. I would concentrate on his retrieving, maybe using cold game to make things more exciting for him, but in a training environment not a hunting one. Dave. Quote Link to post
