iceman001979 1,316
l been hunting in and out for about 10 years now. l just got back into it last 2 years and breed my own litter this pass 2 months. l was a big rabbit man until the ban came in over in the n.lreland but got out off that game because off what l seen last year went out with a few mates hunting down south off lreland. l seen 6 big rabbits get caught and killed and just throwing in the cover. when we got back 2 the van l ask where they where and the answer l got was that they dont bring them home incase they get stopped by police. l didnt do 2 much talking till we got till the bar that night l asked them all then y do they do it. they said they like the course and 2 see how good there dogs :angry can do on a big rabbit. my answer was mussel there dogs then they can c how good there dogs are and nothing gets killed for nothing. johnbhoy 1
years ago people use to go hunting for the pot plus fun. but now nobody realy struggles to put food on the table. me myself i always take the game back home either for my dogs or somebody i know will have them and the odd time for myself. i dont agree with going out hunting then throwing away the kill. the antis would love to find things like that in a bush. anythin ye catch take it home and feed your dogs it. older people tend to take them off your hands tae atb Quote Link to post

jac 12
i hunt for food. very low on cash theses days. and a rabbit is a meal not to be wasted Quote Link to post
HEDS 0
I hunt for the pot and do my best not to waste. I also believe in catching what you NEED and no more. eg. not catching 20 rabbits because we can, but catching two or three because its enough. not shooting 10 ducks because we can, but shooting two or three because its enough. [Pest control is a totally different game - which i have little experience of] As for the hares ... coursing is illegal. and personally id rather see them boxing in march than hanging.
