recycled bunny basher!!

Recommended Posts

Hiya all, I have just registered with the forum, and would like to tell you a bit about myself. My name is Fred, I'm 55 years old, and live in Mansfield, Notts. I held FAC & SGC many moons ago, and enjoyed rough shooting, and a bit of .22lr target shooting in my local ATC range.

I drifted out of the hobby a fair few years ago, but having tried a modern PCP at a local range recently, the shooting bug bit again!!

I have since bought a (s/h) .177 HW100S, with a Hawke Sidewinder 30, 4-16x50 mil-dot scope, and, paired up with AA 4.52 Fields, am getting some very fair groups.

I have a caravan sited on a site near the river Trent, where I spend my weekends, and have permission from the site owner to keep down the local vermin, (the odd rabbit & rat). So its time to go door-knocking, and see if I can convince the farmers around Bleasby I am a sane, sober person, safe to let loose on their land!! (not an easy task!!) The local fields do seem to have plenty of rabbits and woodies/ferals, and I want you all to keep your fingers crossed for me,... I do have insurance, and, having picked off a couple of rabbits from the caravan site, am getting my taste for rabbit stew back!!

OK guys and gals, enough for now, just scanning through the forums, I know any questions I may have will soon get help with, Thanks !!

Cheers, Fred

Hi Comp

Is there something in the air? (a gun perhaps) but I get the feeling that there are a few of us oldies returning to 'the art of what is shootin'

I'm in a similar situation although not sorted with weaponry - I've just started putting my sixpences in a jar and telling my lady that it wont cost much (but it's a start). If you find a friendly landowner whose acreage extends to Holmfirth please please let me know. :D
