vimto 0
Here`s a young Stag that was shot this morning. He`d been holding just two Hinds for about just over a week now and initially they had two calves in tow with them. Well this morning there was a noticeable absence of one of the calves which belonged to the younger Hind. The mature Hind is a resident Hind which has been on the ground for several years living a solitary life. I personally know to her having 2 staggies which have moved on after there first year and the Hind that accompany`s her is her daughter. The start of a small group i hope but not with blood line of this young guy.. Quote Link to post

arveyboy 0
The best one`s i`m saving Foxy Have a look at this picture and see if you can work out the typical beginners mistake you put your rifle down with that stag still standing mate. usually you need to shoot it first Quote Link to post
FOXHUNTER 5,021
I always carry my rifle loaded up to a beast in case it gets back up and also in this case youve missed a 2nd beast !! But Im sure you will still catch up with it soon Quote Link to post
vimto 0
Just imagine you`v assessed the situation and chosen the best method of approach. So you crawl ont belly over yards to the spot were you had anticipated that would give you an ideal vantage point for a shot. Which in this case was rifle ont rucksack stuffed with fleece jumper taking the shot lying down. Only to find that there`s no fecking chance no matter how much i fluff the bag up to make the muzzle of the gun rise above the Bean shoots to give me a clear shot. A typical beginner`s mistake having to go back the yards ont belly to fetch the sticks only to make my way back still on my belly to be seen 20 plus yards short of the rifle, lol. My cover was blown so i decided a quick crawl was in order to take a sitting down shot off the sticks to get a calm and measured result Quote Link to post
