I have been granted my FAC licence and think i made a mistake by just putting rimfire on the application form so if i just have rimfire on my ticket what guns exactly can i buy or should i say what gun will i be limited to, and if only standard rimfire if there is such a thing what ground game will that cover

Surely you had to state calibre and type, so by "gun" you mean rifle and the calibre you applied for is what you put on your application e.g .22lr ,.17hmr etc, so that will be what you are limited to.

When you applied for a FAC you had to state which calibre rifles you needed and for what purpose you need them for, every application has exactly the same questions.

 

So, you would have put .22 RF rifle and for whatever reason you needed it.

 

You can buy a .22rf rifle and use it for the reasons it was granted. Both are written on your FAC.

yeh thanks i put down .22 rimfire for the control of fox vermim and ground game, so was wondering if i asked do you think they would review my licence so mabe i could get a 223 as i want to shoot fox

22Rimfire is not a fox calibre.FAC WILL GET KNOCKBACK mate . centrefire FOR FOX

Do you have land that is passed for centerfire rifles??

 

It will cost you to get another rifle put on now, i cant remember how much but it's a fair bit.

They will need to inspect the land etc before you are granted it.

Have you got a FAC yet or have you just sent off the application???

i got foxon my .22LR first application!

 

although it can do the job, and most people on here will have shot old charlie with a .22LR but its defo not the weapon of choice.
