Guest whippet
Don't use this forum to give advice on how to take standard air rifles over the legal limit of 12ft/lbs. While I have every faith that the users of this forum are upstanding pillars of the community, I don't want us to be lumped in with idiots and toddler murderers. It's your sport so represent yourself in way that will preserve it for your grandkids. Any posts that show, or offer advice on, how to take standard air rifles over the legal limit (12ft/lbs) will be deleted. Don't push it Gnipper, you know the feckin rules, on this forum and in real life. Consider this a warning. :realmad: Quote Link to post

thumbless 0
Whats the difference between a s200 and a S400. I know a s410 is a hundred quid dearer and a multishot but would a s200 do instead of a s400/s410. Have to find my price range, and what s the best tool for the job, i want rabbits and as i have no cover the longer the range the better. Quote Link to post
Guest whippet
http://www.airgunbuyer.com/Showproducts.as...%20Air%20Rifles You'll find pics of both the S200 and S400 in that link as well as variants, you can actually get a 10 shot mag for the S200 so basically if you want multi-shot capability then it's purely your choice between the two. The range at which the 2 models can be used will be the same, neither are inherantly more accurate than the other and both will be limited in range by the power of the gun which will be the same in both (a bit under 12 ft/lb's) and the skill of the user. Basically this equates to wherever you can group into an inch, which benchrested (in ideal conditions) with these guns would most likely be around 45-50 yards. But I must strongly stress that although it's commonplace to hear of 50 yards kill with legal limit rifles, the people who claim to do so don't tell us about the amount they ''miss'' (wound) due to their cowboy attitudes and complacency towards their prey. It's nice to think that we're all above average shots and we can all group under an inch at 100 yards with every rimmy/centrefire like Pete bloody Wadeson ''can'' in the magazines, in much the same way we all like to think we are above average drivers. But at the end of the day we are all human and therefore prone to error, and when it comes to hunting it is out duty to eliminate as much possibility of this error occuring because we owe it to out quarry and the fact that airgunning in particular is a sport under much pressure and how we treat our quarry reflects directly upon the user, us. Sorry I'm in rambling mode, I just like to look into relatively simple questions and answer a lot of things the enquirer is probably thinking/should know. Basically stick to about 30-35 yards and work on your field craft and marksmanship, this will put you in good stead for a lot of things. My god I do waffle on, don't I. Guest s200user
i agree with u there,me and my dad went rat & rabbit shooting last night in his sportrack,we pulled in 1 field and there were hundreds of rabbits about 50 yrds into the feild along the hedgeline, and maneged to kill 4 rabbits one after the other, all head shots, but didnt get no more as they realised what was going on,so yes this little rifle can quite easily do the job and you dont need deep pockets to own one. one thing i found is that u have got to have a real good scope,i bought a tasco world class 3-9x56 for the s200 and is pin point accurate,i was target shooting the other night and hitting pellets on pellets @35 yrds with air arms diabalo field, not bad for a basic pcp! happy shooting...
