camies 1
Apart from the ATEO and BASC, anyone know of someone in Lincolnshire that holds training courses for pest control airgunning? Quote Link to post
stubby 175
although my firm put me on a course at bisley for our airgun certification, the rest of the lads simply did one at the local shotgun/rifle club, you could try asking at your local one Quote Link to post
camies 1
Good idea Stubby but there aren't any local clubs to me and the local shotgunners don't like me as all my permissions were obtained through pushing the fact that I'm quieter than they are! Still don't get their point though as they don't shoot nights. Quote Link to post
120-2 8
Killgerm run airgun courses, give them a call as they may have another running. Killgerm Courses Quote Link to post
Bobba_fett 117
seems a bit over the top for an air gun. dont aim it at people and think about where the pellet will go if u miss, simple Quote Link to post

camies 1
Hi there The one. I was CIEH risk assessment trained but found that when going shooting (especially in the open) that there is so much more to worry about (HSE wise). I researched it a bit on the Internet. As usual the UK, BASC, NGO, and HSE had little, sparce, if not bad advice. I hit pay dirt by looking over the pond though at yank sites. Shooting Risk assessment is a doodle if you use a tick list RA form. I got my first one a few years (8 to be precise) ago via a download from rangesinfo.org (usa based). It was a BBS /FTP site then but may be more user friendly now. Loads of useful forms there which, when you translate from yank to English, make life so much easier. As for the mission statement? I started up complicated with mission goals and objectives. A 5 page document. I later found that the docs were filed, never read, only to be brought out if accidents happen. So now I keep it dead short and sweet. Where I 'm going, what i'm doing, why I'm doing it, for whom I'm doing it, how I'm doing it, and attach my tick list RA form. 1 page, two sides, fill out the boxes and use a stapler. Leaves you plenty of time for a cuppa. Quote Link to post
Foxy09 3
It was the AETO that put me through my coaching license, they are very good at what they do, definitely well worth the money. Foxy Quote Link to post
