Guest rattingaddict
They have to have the show fixed... Edited August 29, 2006 by rattingaddict
lacey1 71
I can't see many of the new generation doing much unless he has changed his outlook completly but good look to all the potential winners ,with all the upset and argueing going on around this particular breed I personally can't see how from choosing a judge who was a close friend of DBP and president of one of the breed clubs who is unfortunately too ill to carry out the duty to asking someone who states he can't stand red and white dogs is taking the breed forward but good look to you all you are making a laughing stock of the breed
Guest Keeps
The only people making a laughing stock out of the breed are the likes of you lot bickering on - it is pathetic. STOP trying to cause trouble. It really is no wonder plummer terriers get such bad publicity with the likes of you lot lurking about, waiting to stir things up when you think you can cause a bit more trouble. Addict, the friends of the judge are not taking part, that has already been agreed, to be fair to the judge and everyone else taking part, although they are still coming along to support the day. It is most definitely NOT fixed. He will choose whatever he feels is the best working dog there on the day! If you have nothing positive to add to this thread, may I suggest you keep off! lacey1 71
Keeps why should friends of the judge not show their dogs it is what is on the end of the lead not who is holding it that is being judged and why keep some of the present show champs out of the ring isn't this giving false results which in time will feature on future pedigrees causing over inflated prices of pups.I have known Daz for numerous years and I don't think for 1 minute he would pull a dog out because of the owner he will only choose what he likes so your statement to rattingaddicts comment again makes the future for the plummer terrier very cloudy to say the least

The show is not fixed, as Addict has indicated. Had one of Daz's friends won the show, then I am sure one or two (not mentioning any names )would have had something derogatory to say about it. This is a working dog show at a local agricultural fair, it is not Crufts and it is open to all dogs - I very much doubt whether it is big enough or important enough to influence anything, including the price of a pup on a 'pedigree'. I wont be showing my dogs either - it is the "done thing" round this way not to show your own dogs when you are helping out - whether or not you agree with that is completely up to you. Sadly, the future of the plummer terrier is cloudy, to say the least, with the likes of you, rattingaddict and others, continuing to cause controversy and bad feeling amongst them. Be assured though, that this show will go on, despite your attempts to spoil it - we will enjoy it for what it is, a get together amongst like-minded people & friends, who will be there for the crack

Guest rattingaddict
I will stand by my words and also wonder why a judge was picked that is against the breed? strange when his only good dog is out of a pure bred plummer. should be a good day out
Guest Keeps
My choice of judge is really no concern of yours Addict. Why would someone who is against the breed have a good dog out of a plummer (theres no such thing as 'pure bred' remember)? I think you've answered your own question really. Daz has an excellent knowledge of working plummer terriers, going back a long way, and I can think of no-one in a better position to judge than him. It will be a good day Edited August 29, 2006 by Keeps
phil wright 2
personally im looking forward to the show as ANY plummer terrier can be entered. if the judge dosent like plummers thats maybe a good thing.that way he cant be biased towards either club etc,and wont look down upon those like me who have never felt the need to register dogs with any club as they all want kc. whos going off here? is there a beer tent? Gin 500
Yes there is a very good beer tent. Myself and Mike Tones run the Countryside Marquee,- lots to see in this tent. Ferrets, Net making, Wildfowlers, Country Books, Beagles and Hounds, Muzzle loaders, Hark Forrard selling hunting items, Leather Worker, so i hope to see you there, this Saturday and Sunday. I am with the ferrets.
