oakey 57
I'm new to longnets as you may know from my post's . Ive been reading a book peg to peg (very good) i don't want to sound like a instant expert but just to get me going, to tie the net to the poles could i use the clove hitch as written but then instead of a rubber band from a bike innertube could i not just wrap it with insulation tape . Please fell free to shoot me down Quote Link to post

Please fell free to shoot me down I've never tried it, but... I made up 10 pairs of anchor pins last year and instead of brazing them I used insulating tape to bind the circle closed. So far so good, they have all held fine and the nets (10, 15 & 50 yarders) are used several times a week. Give it a go mate. HH G. Quote Link to post

Please fell free to shoot me down From your question I take it you are talking about a pre set net. There is nothing wrong in using insulation tape for for what you want to do. Although the tape will slowly undo and cause the net to snag, but then you just put a bit more tape on to cover the tape that is coming loose. Alternatetivly you could try the traditional method that does not need any of these items, if far more verisitile in where you can set the net, and to be honest catches more rabbits.
