how is this treaty going to effect the hunting in ireland,is there stuff here we should know.voting today dont know what to do.

I suspect that hunting will be down to the regional assemblies. However the enforcement of any such law could be devolved to the european police.

Who will have the right to kick your back door in (literally, metaphorically and euphamistically!) cart you off to whatvever country in europe they like without even needing to possess a warrent!

So next time some ring piece grasses you up for having too many terriers/lurchers or staffs. You could end up wallowing in a Portuguese prison without charge for months!

Scary but true folks

Ning in fear all

swampy you are so far out it is unbelievable, since 1960 they have been talking strongly of joining EUROPE, and slowly bit by bit we have slowly become a major part of it, and the trouble is, most countries have one foot in and one foot out, the EURO HAS BEEN A MAJOR SUCCESS, 1 of3 major currencies, and if the UK. joined, it would attract more business. no exchange rates, what a saving to all, but NO THE MOGULS OF THIS WORLD DO NOT want sterling to disappear, they are making to much money out of it in exchange rates, and buying and selling on the world monetary system, as for Ireland, I lived there I saw the boom come and go, and Ireland had a fantastic, economy, in those ten years, but Ireland will vote yes this time,

It is not the one who does the Voting, but the ones who do the COUNTING, ((((( wait and see, look at mr. mcguinnes, mr. adams. and mr Paisley, they all said they would never sit around the table with each other, and now every thing is rosie in the garden,

I've voted Yes because Ireland will benefit from a Yes vote.

I find it amusing UKIP and other foreign parties believe they can tell the Irish people how to vote.

We'd enough of that for long enough.

I agree, whole heartedly, and slowly my country SCOTLAND IS GOING THE SAME ROOT, ALLOW THE PEOPLE OF THERE COUNTRY, to decide there own future, not some one down in WESTMINSTER,

The thing is Malt, this vote is not about the Government. It's about an EU treaty, which is important to Ireland. That's the crucial issue, Irish people voting on whether something is good or bad for Ireland and not about anyone or anything else :)

Blair is just one aspect, everything has to be weight, most importantly probably is Ireland's standing with it's friends and allies within the EU, as a small country, good standing with other members is extremely important in any strategy adapted by Ireland in any EU matter.

There will be a national election soon enough anyway, they can't open their mouths lately for putting about 10 pairs of feet in.

John,

call it a treaty if you want, but this is about europe being governed by a centralised non elected bereaucratic clique. By saying YES you have given up your right to free governing so it is irrelevant as to the outcome of what could now be no more than a local election. Their hands will be tied to the puppeteers of brussells.

I am sure that in the short term it would look good for Eire. You certainly have benefitted from the eu bribes...sorry....grants that they have bestowed upon your fine land. However this was never about Eire on its own. Its about a centralised government run from brussels.

Eire has always been held in high regard by myself. I hope that your country doesn't end up like England.

I also hope that by some miracle you are right and I wrong.

Good luck

As I said before a YES will mean that you will NEVER get to decide your own future.

Its a shame that the old feuds take preceedence over a greater and more potent threat.

Lol.

See, the fact of it is this, neither of us is wrong. We just look at the same thing in a different way  If the UK were having the same vote I'd be in no doubt it'd be a no vote. But it's Ireland, so an entire different scenario has to be taken into consideration, as I said, it benefits us

ireland is a bloody joke it was no the last time now its for vote again

dont care what its about it was voted out last time

bring back the irish punt :clapper:

If we had the punt now, we'd have already been forced to devalue our currency because of the global economic problems. We've been afforded an awful lot of protection from currency speculators because of the Euros. Lessons of the early nineties have been forgotten in some quarters.

instead of of the punt being devalued its the normal person

who has being hit with all the pay cuts with the euro being so

high and dollar and sterling lower its hardly worth

doing buisness with us which is why so many companys

are jumping ship.i met a buisness man while on a fishing trip and this is

what he told me he also told that we are in for big recession

in every country out there the bigger the boom bigger the recession.

history has shown us.

will be surprised to see a no vote get through yes is being forced that much
