timmy k 591
had the rspca around the house today, i wasnt in but my missus was, she let them in (which i wouldnt of done but she wasnt to know) the fella told her they had someone call with a few complaints one which was the dogs have no shelter and never go for walks, they do have shelter its a big arse shed with a run and they go for walks every night when most people are tucked in bed and my missus told them "if anything hes out with the dogs all the time for hours on end and i hardly ever see him" so after inspecting the dogs and there living quarters he was more than happy with them. the second was my chickens are being terrorised by the cats, now we dont even have cats and my missus told him so and asked exactly what we were supposed to do about the cats that live in the neighborhood, he didnt have an answer and thought the dogs would be enough of a deterant but the dogs cant get to them from the kennels, so after seeing them and agreeing that somebody was knit picking he went on his way but not before he noticed my fox head, deer antlers and trap collection and asking if i worked the dogs, my missus said yes but all that stuff was pre ban, she said he was quite nice and pleased at the way the animals were kept but he wouldnt tell her who made the complaint although i have my suspicions, know the question is how do i find out who it was? because whats annoying me is if they would of came to me and voiced the worrys i could of showed them the dogs kennels that are out of view to everyone and explained when their walked, and also can i trap the cats that come in to my garden and kill the friggers? Annmarie09 5
Just forget about the idiots who phoned the RSPCA, there are people like that everywhere with nothing better to do than waste these people's time when they could be dealing with a real case of neglect. It happens all the time, a few people I know have a visit when there was nothing wrong (including me, ok the pony was severely underweight but I had only owned him for about 2 weeks and it actually took about 6 months to get him right - if the person had asked me they would have known that) - maybe the folks who phoned think your dogs should be like 50% of the dogs in this country who are over-weight, under-exercised and fed on rubbish like chocolate? As for the cats, well there is nothing you can do, cats are allowed by law to wander wherever they want and do what they like. I know it must be tempting to do something but, apart from the trouble you would get into (the law states you may not harm an animal kept by another for a lawful purpose) just think that cat could be some little kid's pet. I don't know if it's possible for you but the smallholding next door have put up a high chicken wire fence (at least 7 feet) to keep their free range chickens and young racing pigeons safe from the local cats and it seems to be working well for them. Good luck with everything

driller killer 33
I got chickens and cats mate, Do the local cat actually terrorise ya chucks? In my experiance chickens are perfectly capable of taking care of them selfs with cats, cats might try it once but they will soon learn, unless there bantams? I do have an indian game cockeral now but the hens had no prob seeing off any cats before he turned up. I learnt the other day one of our neighbours had said to our other neighbour that were friends with they think our cats are underweight, our cats are perfect weight, one of them goes the vet about once a month (thank f**k for pet insurance!!!) for an on going skin condition and the vets more than happy with there general health, the neighbours got a cat, its a right overweight fat f**k, whos the cruel one?? Im just waiting for the rspca to turn up here about the cat with the skin condition, shes on tablets for the rest of her life and she has good wks and bad, would have cost us thousands if i ant be for the insurance. We got loads of nosey neighbours here, just bitter and got nothing better to do with there sad little lives. We live in a posh little village, were not posh at all, so were prime targets

steviemann 5
i dint know that if you ran a cat over by accident that you dont have to stop, just carry on even in a built up place, , , the amount of time ive spent looking for poor little kitty in the hedges ! I knocked one over early one morning in my village on a motorbike when I was a youngster. Carried it home, woke parents up, they identified it as so&so's down the road, carried it to so&so's, knocked on door and woke them up, so&so came down the stairs, turned on outside light, opened door, cat woke up and was off like the wind leaving me empty handed standing in front of a very angry to be woken up at 0200 hrs in the morning owner of cat that was far from dead. craigyboy 1,274
thanks people but one thing i cant understand is if a dog worries a sheep the farmers in his right to shoot it so why not a cat on chickens cos the worlds fecked up mate,if you let your dog out everynight to go around the streets killing things like birds, rabbits, voles mice reptiles etc youd have your dog taken off you and banned from keeping dogs, yet 99% of cat owners do this everynight its fecking ridiculous if i had my way id round up every cat in britain and send em all to korea and convince the locals they taste twice as good as dog
