BellySlater 15
Guy's, Please excuse my ignorance in this (I hope it's not a dumb ass question) I have been on this site quite a while now and i've been dipping into the lurcher and terrier sections trying to make my mind up as to what sort of dog would benefit most from my lifestyle. I've decided that the Border Terrier is the best way forward and I am now researching the breed and care / requirements that little bit further to make completley sure.. My question is...some strains of the breed seem to be much longer in the leg than others, does this present any problems / advantages. Shorter legs make it easier to go to ground and longer legs give more speed ? I am leaning towards the taller type, (don't know why). Are there particular breed lines that will be either one or the other and can you tell at the puppy stage if you have a little or large ? Thanks in advance. Quote Link to post
Kaiserdog 20
It would depend on what you were going to use the dog for mainly. Quote Link to post
deanwelshcobman 0
Depending upon what lines you go for a border terrier could very well do your job and as for a bit of leg i dont see this as a problem as they can fold them up but to strong a chest they cant . I believe you wouldnt go far wrong with some oxcroft blood. Quote Link to post
