good news guys, i bought one last week! and a fine pup he is. already got him sitting to hand signals and he's only 9 weeks, which is something some lurchers never learn in a life time. what i'm after is a good allround and especially one that can retrieve from water. as for hunting instinct its still in modern poodles.

 

SORRY MATE THATS NOT TRUE YOU CAN TRAIN MOST TYPES OF LURCHER PUP TO DO THAT EASY AND WHAT DOES SITTING TO HAND SIGNAL HELP A DOG WHEN IT COMES TO KILLING GAME? THEY DONT SIT DOWN TO DO THAT MATE SO COME BACK AND TELL US HOW GOOD YOUR POODLE X IS WHEN ITS AN ADULT AND KNOCKING STUFF OVER

Sitting and staying is a very handing thing to have a lurcher do ...what happens if you are in a field that is surrounded in electric fenceing and has one of those coiled electric lines with the plastic handle for a gate ...you can make the dog or dogs stay open the electric gate then allow thee just point aim slip dog to go through the gate safely ....to much lads are point aim slip... . I might add some poodle blood to my dogs next time a good little earner as my car road tax runs out soon

I hope he turns out well for you. Put everything in to him, if its a decent pup you will get out what you put in.

Take no notice of the knockers, if its doing its job and it suits you then that is all that matters.

The important thing is the S Poodle has not been bred not to hunt, all the hunting genes are still there in modern Poodles.
