shepp 2,285
Yes we are in for a very bumpy ride but at least the Tories have enough respect for us to let us know that we need to make cuts to pay back all the money labour have frittered away on a bloated public sector and benefits. The case of mass immigration should be enough to vote labour out without mentioning our wrecked economy, selling off our gold reserves at a low price, political correctness, widened gap between rich and poor, dumbing down education, Iraq and Afganistan, gun crime, soft sentences on criminals..... The list is endless. Biggest shower of shite we have ever had attempting to run the country!

Nah mate you need to look beyond the hype...if you think the tories give a shit about the working man your dreaming.....the tories have privatised all the country's biggest assets and they belong to foreign countries....all theyre interested in is profit not people. How much did the last tory government borrow...nearly bankrupted the country....do your research

Matt 160
The tories often get the blame for the destruction of british industry in the 1980's, but actually, it was the Labour governments of the 1970's that killed british industry. Anyone remember the 70's on here? Strikes, walkouts, strikes, inflation, strikes, walkouts, strikes, power cuts, fuel shortages, strikes.......................................... And then along came a strong, no, ruthless, woman who set out to change the way we do things. She admitted that it was going to be an expensive prescription, and even she had no idea just how expensive it was going to be......... Lets not forget some of the good stuff that came out of the Tory era of the 1980's... Council tennants given the right to buy their homes at discounted rates Nationalised businesses (BT, BG etc) handed over to the people Personal taxation at it's lowest level since the war Inflation kept under control It's very sad that the price of all this was our beloved coal industry, but somehow, the unions had to be brought under control - they were killing this country. As for what a new conservative government would do about the hunting act, I'm pretty sure they do not need to vote on repealing some unworkable legislation, and there are always 'ways around' problems. One thing is for sure; whatever you think of Maggie, and what she did, she would never have allowed such an unfair piece of legislation as the hunting act to slide through parliament. There is only one political party that has pledged to repeal the act, and anyone who hunts should remember that. Oh, and by the way, you fascists that vote BNP should be aware that they are ANTI hunting!!
poacher3161 1,766
I wonder if the tories will bring the poll tax back in
Matt 160
I wonder if the tories will bring the poll tax back in I hope so That may stop all the small houses full of adults paying the same as me, but costing the council more
undisputed 1,664
I wonder if the tories will bring the poll tax back in or do away with VAT or the levy on fuel they introduced
Matt 160
They've made it quite clear that they would have scrapped the fuel 'escalator' as they didn't predict that oil prices would treble. And it was WILSON that brought in VAT to replace Purchase Tax (for the younger reader, Wilson was another Fake socialist...). Malt 379
Lets not forget some of the good stuff that came out of the Tory era of the 1980's... Council tennants given the right to buy their homes at discounted rates Sorry Matt, I usually agree with you on most things but I can agree with you on this one! There were no plans put in place to replace sold council housing, leading to a shortage in rural areas resulting in vast exodus' of young people who have been priced out of the market with the cost of ex council houses rising way beyond the reach of young families. People bought their council houses en mass with no intention of staying there, selling them for up to double what they paid for them. Many young, hard working families in my area are stuck in cramped, two bedroom flats, or forced to rent privately at stupid rates.
