First Round Heat

me and singlehanded ran our heat on Friday. The night had know wind and the fields that we ran first were stubble fields. singlehand won the toss and went first. a quick shine and there was a rabbit sat in the middle of the field. dog slipped 1 nil singlehanded. Nothing else in the field, into the next one.

A few rabbits but all within 10 to 15 yards of hedges. The pair of us decided that due to the lack of wind we would have to slip at these. lamp on bitch slipped, she turned it from the hedge 3 times befoe it went into the hedge. There were a few more slips like this and then singlehandeds dog bagged another after turning it it 3 or 4 times. 2 nil singlehanded, for a dog of 28 inches and heavily built this dog is fast and turns really quick for his size. :clapper:

Next field slip my bitch again and after turning it 3 or 4 times and it getting away I said to singlehanded she doesnt seem right. Another slip for SH at one close in and a miss. my turn again but this time she cried as she was chasing. a quick check and there was a hard lump on one of her toes and she was limping badly. Comp over for me. :wallbash:

We decided to stay out with just Singlehandeds dog and he bagged another 6 which was good work given the ground and lack of work. This dog impressed me.

We eventually ended up having a coffee in Macdonalds at 130am. A good night bar the dog.

Good luck in the next round SH.

Thanks for organising it LDR and count me in for the next year.
