Hi all

We are in the process of makeing up 2 x 50yd longnets and want to sow the bagging in evenly along the top line

what cotton do you use is it normal household or the strong type like what fishing rod eyes are put on with ie (whipping) ?

and how many times do you have to sow it through the top line

Or is there another way of connecting it to the top line

YOUR IDEAS WOULD BE GRATEFULLY RECEIVED THANKS

This is what stephen58 was talking about.

I have used sewn in bagging for about 20 years. A few tips that may help. If your net is 4" sew 36 meshes every 6' When setting the net use the sewn in line as a footline. When used this way there is not a lot of differance between a sewn in net and a free running net. The sewn in net will be a lot easier to pick up as you will not need to be constantly reseting the bagging.
