hello my name is Andy 36 and I live about three miles outside of Llandrindod wells mid Wales. for as long as I can remember I have been interested in birds of prey and the age old art of falconry for a while now I have tried to digest as much knowledge as I can by reading books but as anyone will tell you there is only so much that you are able to learn by reading alone, that is why I have decided to take the next step and try to find myself a mentor. somebody that would be willing to take me on as their apprentice and hopefully pass onto me the wealth of knowledge that they have accumulated over the years as a practicing falconer. I do not mind being a bit of a fetch me carry me and getting my hands dirty. in a perfect world I would be able to find someone that is relatively close to were I live but if I need to I do not mind travelling a few miles as long as it is not to far anyway if you happen to know someone that you think that might be willing to consider me then would you be so kind as to pass my e-mail on to them also i would be very grateful for any help or adive that you would be willing to offer me. lastly I would just like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to read this.

If you contact these either by phone or email I'm sure they could put you intouch with people in your area! if you was closer you could have had a mooch with us down here when we finaly get out and about, things are a bit slow here at the moment with moving and whatever.....

I know a man who lives about 10 miles from you, he flies two Harris's at the moment, but has had falcons etc in the past. Obviously i'd have to ask him first, but he's a very enthusiastic man with his birds, and knowledgeable. I'm sure he'd be only to happy to take you out, he lives and breathes it. I used to go out with him a lot but dont seem to have the time nowadays, although I keep threatening to go again .

 

If you want I'll ask him for you, but be warned, he doesn't suffer fools gladly, but is a genuine guy, a good friend of mine.
