JordKil 0
I imagine most folk who ferret would feed them to the ferrets wouldnt they? I eat some if I get too many like but most of the time they go to ferrets. Quote Link to post
Tiny 7 1,694
I use 95% of what i catch, And the other go to the the lads round me with big snake's, And the old boys like a brace left on the door handle a couple of times a month, I think if you dont use it then you shouldnt kill it, Iv been out with boys thats had real good dogs (just bad owner's) that leave everything i mean from Rabbits too Roe pre-ban... stubby 175
never waste anything, rabbits/pidgeon, all gets eaten by either us, dogs or ferts, as already mentioned if its going to waste, why do it even if doing it for pest control you'd expect people to find an outlet for them, zoo, rescue centre, raptor centre etc, rather than just leave them to rot Quote Link to post
Coneytrappr 30
I use everything I can mate. Quote Link to post
Guest lavyheed
I use all the rabbits that i catch, the little ones, (in my opinion taste a little bitter) go to the ferrets, the bigger rabbits go to feed me,my family and a neighbour. I agree with stubby's comment, if its going to waste, why do it. Quote Link to post

Halfinch 51
Same answer here, Ferrets eat most of the rabbits, but have one for the pot now and again. No waste. Quote Link to post
Guest lavyheed
My mate also takes a pelt now and again for his fly tying. Quote Link to post
The one 8,482
We use everything i kill either us the ferret's or the dogs Quote Link to post
ferret15 0
no waste here ever it all gets eaten by something here. but i wonder what response this would get in the shooting section as not every one who has a gun has an animal to feed. i have read on here in the past about kills being left in hedges.(for the foxes) i reckon that if you kill it you should try to find a use for it a lot of the ferret rescues feed rabbit and as stubbie says there are plenty of other places that would be gratefully of some fresh meat. moses 5
all mine feed the ferrets cheaper than ferret food thats for sure. Quote Link to post
lilpip1234 62
everything i catch gets used bar diseased specimens of course either eat em myself, or dog and ferret food maybe one or two ill give to the neighbours, because in all fairness whats the point in killing it if your not gunna use it Quote Link to post
max abell 196
We eat the back legs and the saddle and the ferrets eat the rest Anything we shoot also goes to the ferrets we use 99.9% of what we get Quote Link to post
kristian 9
we either eat it ourselves or give to the ferrets if it's rabbit, if it's a squidgy then we just feed to ferrets but the last one they hardly touched so i think i'm gonna be trying squirrel myself next time.
