why say there 110% then there not

Recommended Posts

some people are messers some think they have a good dog!!! and truth be known wouldnt know a good dog if theyre arse got bit!!! some dogs just dont settle and are never given the oppertunity to do it right!!!

its a shame but theres always a lot of wastage that should never be sold on!!! they should be neutered/castrated and given away free as pets!!! or just plain and simple culled!!!!

whichever way the ads will always be full of crap for someone to make a mistake on!!!

Good dogs are made,,not bought.

That's bullshit. The country is full of good dogs with shitty owners who wouldn't know how to get the best out of them and never will. I've just read a post regarding some poor mutt called bailey who hasn't been given a chance but is ready to be enter into the bring a buy sale known as lurcherdom. Some knuckle head will buy it cos it looks the part even though the dog hasn't been trained and they don't have the capabilities to f*****g train it. he'll use it out lampin, it'll pull down a sheep, get passed from pillar to post....... all the while the f****n dog could be the best thing since BS (Before Saluki) but will it ever get a chance............ There are far more bad owners out there than bad dogs thats a FACT!!!

what the hell has that got to do with good dogs are made ,if the first owner is a twat and knows nothing then the dog will be the same ,but if the first owner is clued in and knows what it is about then the dog should be good .FACT i should have read the other post first ,i see you put things right , :icon_redface: Edited by UNFIT

in my oppinion lads i think a dog should give 100% every time it is ran dont get me wrong all dogs have a bad night time to time ;)

You reckon? I dunno..... I think the more a dog is out the less effort it gives or should I say, needs to. A good dog isn't the fastest but the one who reads what is happening quicker and the only way it can do this is through experience. It's like a football player, the best players in the world aren't always the fastest even though speed plays a big part. But the most important part is reading the game, knowing what will happen before it does. It's like us, when you lamp your land, you pretty much know whats the best way to lamp it, where the rabbits will run, etc etc. The more you get farmiliar with it, the less effort goes into it cos you don't need to. Same with the dog. There will be nights where everything doesn't go the way the dog thinks it will and these are the nights where you think the dog ain't trying but he is, just it didn't work out for him. Shit happens, don't take life so serious and enjoy, you ain't out in the f*****g cold to catch rabbits but to enjoy trying to....

why do people say there dogs are mint sell you it on a trail then they cant do the job . complete waste of everyones time

ever thought you are buying a living thinking feeling animal and not a machine ??? it takes some dogs up to 2 months to settle down into new surroundings and feel happy and confident to hunt to their full potential ... if you want a trial on a dog then you should travell to the sellers place and get him to take you out with the dog ... that way you get to see exactly what the dog can and cannot do ............

That's the logical way ,see the dog in its own environment , working with its owner.

Generally as a rule a good dog is made by bringing up correctly and training well to get the best out of the dog,,and not bought,,as most good dogs sell themselves before the need to be advertised. There is always exceptions to this but i think they are very rare.

As for a dog working good for one person and not another i think it depends on the breeding and the way the dog has been kept/worked. A greyhound is anyones dog,,a collie is not !

I think the first question is what is the dog 110% at?................6 rabbits a night, a 100 or 30?........has it ever done as much as you want to do with it, less?.........more?

Is it steady ferreting.......or most happy on the lamp, big long slips on big fields or working small paddocks with stone walls...........all this 100% business is very much a nonsense,
