samba 534
Heres a photo of my hunting partners Wheaton/g.houndxwheaton/g.hound/bull,hes 19 months old and has taken a few foxes so far.Hes had 4 single handed and 11 in company. This year he'll be right as rain,no reverse gear in this dog and he has felt the buisness end but didnt seem to mind in the least. We're hoping to try him on bigger stuff this winter also.Time will tell as to how useful he will be but I dont see a problem with him.The only fault really is he crushes the hell out of the rabbits, fit for dog food only when hes done. nice dog mate, i have found these very powerfull and yours looks full of it, it good to see how many people still work this type of lurcher, all the best with him this season . chris got to agree chris excellent looking dog mate Quote Link to post
Simoman 110
Chris, Can I ask what are the differences in temperament, speed, working style/ability between bull and Wheaton crosses? Thanks Simon Quote Link to post
chris hickling 14
Hi simon , can only speak for my own dogs that is, and i have owned bull cross as well and seen some good bull crosser work , temperament wise as soft as arseholes with the family and i have 8 kids ,5 still at home ,people they dont no they are wary about and will grab but thats my doing, speed i would say is the same, depends on the cross 1/2 bred w/g same as 1/2 bred bull x, working style/ability , my dog or bitch will locate the terrier to ground why im still looking around, was digging at the side of a wood in a big place and i could not find bert for love or money big dog f**k off in to the wood about 30 yards away and started digging right on top of bert at his quarry, they want to catch every thing and put 100% in each time plus good spotter on the lamp, they dont make a noise when the going gets tough, but like i say thats my dogs and cant speak for other peoples, once had a man that said ( will give you £10.000 if your dog can kill 10 out of 10 on the lamp ) so i told him get a gun you will kill 50 out of 50 now f**k off ,he not spoken to me since that day ,enjoy your dogs what ever the cross.
