All this absolute bullshit because the lad let his PUP rag a carcase!!?? Un-be-f****n-lievable!!!! If this is the level of intelligence of the average terrierman its no wonder they banned hunting!! You do yourselves proud-read back from the beginning of the thread and if you have any sense at all you will see what i mean. Un-be-f****n-lievable.

:clapper: fair play bud, good luck with it

Well done

Give my pups a rag off a dead one every chance I get will do no harm mate.

She should do you proud need you need to show her one behind the spade next mate.

I've buried a dead on in an artificial earth in the past, let the pups have a rag of it first then bury it for them and let them find it to ground all good practice mate.

You don't want the dog ragging a dead one then first time to ground gets a face full and knocks her confidence.

Well done keep the good work up have a good season

All the best Johnnie deep dig

A REASON WHY I THINK THE ABOVE POST IS COMPLETE BULLSHITE. I DUG 5FT LAST SEASON TO AN INEXPERIENCED BITCH WITH A DEAD PIECE OF GAME AFTER AN EXPERIENCED DOG HAD SAID NOWT AT HOME, THE FOX HAD BEEN DEAD A FEW DAYS AND ON INSPECTION HAD BEEN SHOT, I CAN'T UNDERSTAND THE LOGIC OF BURRYING DEAD GAME FOR YOUNG DOGS TO FIND. TOTALLY DEFEATS THE PURPOSE IMO.

The artificial earth is in my own garden it consists of a 225 diameter pipe no longer than 3mtrs and it opens up into a small concrete chamber with a flag lid on the top.

I let the pups operative words being pups no younger than 8months old and no older than 12months old rag the dead game above ground in my garden.

Then I lift the flag lid of the top of the artificial earth and put the game inside the chamber.

I then encourage the pups to enter the 225 diameter pipe to the game It works for me mate.

As for the comments dug 5ft to a dead piece of game after experienced dog said nothing home I would be giving the so called experienced dog the back of the spade and putting more time into the young bitch she obviously has a better nose than the dog.

Or are you saying the experienced dog knows the difference between dead game and live game that's why he said don't bother no one home?

I wouldn't have been bothered about digging down to a dead fox as long as the inexperienced bitch was still with it baying away when I broke through.

What was the experienced dog doing while the young bitch was to ground sat licking his bollocks tied to a tree saying your waisting your time dick-ed its all ready dead.

All the best pal and keep digging

YEAH MY EXPERIENCED DOG DOES KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DEAD AND LIVE GAME, THAT'S WHY I TRUST HIS NOSE 100% IF HE SAYS THERE'S NOWT AT HOME THEN I TRUST HIS JUDGEMENT, HE'S NEVER LET ME DOWN, IF HE GOES TO GROUND YOU DIG HIM, SIMPLE AS, THAT DAY WAS ANOTHER REASON WHY I TRUST HIS NOSE SO MUCH.
