Guest Quickthorn
Here`s the first Fallow Buck of my season and what a welcomed change it was. Small and easy enough to manage on your own without having to maul your ball`s off even the knife work was easier on him comparing him to some of the larger stuff that go`s through my hands. It`s quite understandable why this size of Deer are more favored by poacher`s,lol. Going off the subject of Deer stalking for a moment and onto last weeks Midland Game fair. I mentioned to a forum friend on here who incidentally i had never met before that we would meet at the Midland fair. He not knowing what i looked like and me not knowing what he looked like he mentioned in a private message how would he recognise me?? My reply to him was simple. I said you look every guy in the eye that you meet and you`ll instantly recognise me because the first thing that will come into your mind is "Real Deal" Nice meeting you our Marty but your bowing was quite embarrassing Quote Link to post

martin 332
I have meant to post about our meeting earlier, but,I thought it would embarrass you too much to hear that I thought you were a well mannered very sociable young chap 'Vim', I am still wondering why you tend to like to keep up this bad boy facade :aggressive: .....lol. Still I think you are mellowing, maybe middle age creeping in,and,as I said at the time....it was good to meet you...........Martin Quote Link to post
Guest Quickthorn
The story behind it Arvey is that there were 3 Bucks all very similar in size walking with the wind towards me. Moments earlier i had been sat down wind looking up a grass field with woodland either side waiting for any Bucks to come out. Anticipating that Deer would exit the wood at either side and feed with heads going into the wind. It was not to be so at last light i moved making my way to another feeding area and this is when i bumped into the 3 Bucks. All three ran towards the forestry and stopped at the edge just for another look So this young Buck was taken broadside off sticks at approximately 180 yards. He ran near on 70 yards before hitting the deck right in front of the vehicle access point so no dragging was needed and that's the story Arvey i hoped you enjoyed it Yea Drooper when i look at a man up and down just for a few seconds i can normally get the measure of him pretty accurately and i suppose i was taken by our Marty`s early eighties tattoos right through to more recent millennium time tattoo`s. Upon a closer inspection i came to the detailed assumption that our Marty has indeed been a silly boy over many decades. Those tattoos would not fool anyone with my experience Drooper But it was good to meet you our Marty and you were exactly what i expected and take that in a respectful kind of way But tell me what did you see when you looked into my eye`s Quote Link to post
Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Personally ,a mans tattoos dont really do it for me but whatever floats your boat i suppose .In my experience ,first impressions are just that and many a mistake has been made by a quick judgement .You never know a man until youve stalked with him and then a good judgement can be made of their experience /take on the world around them . You may honestly believe you are good at what you do but theres always someone to show you a better/quicker way of doing what you take for granted .Just my take on life from someone whos not at the top of his tree . Yokel Matt 918
He’s a beauty and looks in excellent condition (the fallow Quickthorn )… I guess if you’ve put enough deer on the floor of different species then a fallow like that could be seen as a tiddler but he still looks pretty feckin big to me – Having said that I’m well down the food chain on the experience side of things A good clean shot at a good distance – fair play.
