out with the whippets

Recommended Posts

had a trip out on the 12th in the moring on a big farm about an hour away, the plan was to give the young ferrets a whirl on some small sets, and also try out the my new mk3m ferret finder with the mk3m collars, the farmer informed me they were out a few weeks ago on the lamp and shot approx 150 rabbits, as they were reseeding, so i was abit disapointed to say the least,

but we carried on regardless, , the fist one i did, there was a big tree in the middle of a corn fiels that just been seeded, so both dogs were marking and there was only one hole so bang the jill in and had a few runs manged to bag 2 out of the 3 one for each dog, so chuffed for the pup and had a 1/2ft dig for a young one the jill killed.

we the headed for a hot spot, but still full of nettle in the hedge rows so it was abit uncoumphy trying to net up, there were some tiny drumbers bolting straight threw the nest and very easy for the dogs to pick up.

we did a few more sets one was a little 3 holer so i used my little silver kit i kep back and sure enough one bolted but i thnik she got a shock when her dinner ran off.

we called it day with a disapointing bag of 8 but it was nice to see the dogs out having a few runs.

enjoy the pics
