Brian-911 210
think its more along the lines of people using them as penis extentions, personally i wouldnt go for a 50/50 bull cross no way i dont think there anygood for anything apart from charlie but saying that this weeks copy of CMW just shows you dont need bull in a dog for it to be top class fox dog. thing is they seem to be being sold at 10 months the majority of them all "GOOD WORKING" dogs apparently o why you selling??? you wont see many 10month old proper bred lurchers on there i.e collie/grey beddi/whippet only the AMAZING BULL X!! bull101 35
i am a big fan of the bull x, dont get me wrong!. and i do believe they are a great x. there is a lot of 50/50 x's that will be able to course a hare, i had one personally that took a good number of hare. there is a lot of heavy half x's but let be honest they are bred for a purpose and they do their job very well. also most of you who actually hunt fox will know they can turn just as good as a hareand also have a good turn of speed about them!. but a lot f bull x's going up for sale are just the scrap ends put together for the £££.............the good bull x's wont be for sale as they will be doing their job and pleasing their owners very much!. stag1 3
lads put bull in there breed of dog because it seems the dog is a better all rounder and they mostly have harder feet than them shitty beddy/whip ect breed of dog Quote Link to post
lilpip1234 62
yes bull101 i can see were your coming from there are alot of people who are breeding them just for the money and the so called fear factor, but there are also people that do it with many other crosses in my area i know a guy whos first cross deerhound is useless on the lamp and in the day and selling pups of it for 250 as 100% working stock so these time waster dont just apply to bullys Quote Link to post

Guest lurchers&terriers
i heard there's few wheaton crosses about that will match any bull cross, there's some good collie crosses doing the bizz too. there do seem to be alot of people breeding and selling bull crosses. dogs are just a money making product to some folk and if the bull cross goes out of fashion you can bet the same lot will be breading what ever there's demand a for. peddlers they are peddlers Quote Link to post

Guest miller1989
To be honest i think alot of people in built up areas own bull breeds, like me as ive got to walk through built up areas with my bitch and i wouldnt go down well seeing a dog all smashed up,on bigger game most bull breeds can do the job fast and rarely take as much stick as other lurcher crosses which would suit alot of people. Theres peddlers in all breeds and theres shit in every litter its down to how much the owner knows about the breeding, and have they worked this type of dog! EG ive never owned a collie cross so entering this cross correctly to fox would be difficult for me as age,and maturity would be a concern. But on the other hand ive a 34 grey !/4 bull knows her job but she is most definatly not a world beater and she was entered to fox at about 20 months, and aparently the rest of the same litter were doing the job and 13 to 14 months!
