Guest oldskool
i worked for an isuzu dealer years back. the 2.8 td had a habit of blowing the head after 100,000. i been looking for a video download of that top gear clip with the toyota hi lux but no joy. after seeing it the first time i would buy one in a heart beat. Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Whatever the make ,model ,any 4x4 is only as good as the tyres on it . So if you change your tyres to rugged offroad type's it will magically double the amount of space you have inside the smaller diatsu's/ suzuki's/rav4's and whatever other small 4x4's that people use... thus giving you plenty of space for dog's and terrier box's.. ..aswell as giving you more power for towing and carrying heavy load's.. . Millet Where does it say it does any of that Millet .You strike me as the driver of a hair dresser truck though . A little suzuki something with a fur soft-top  .Hilux all the way . Guest RobW71
My Fourtack is a sound truck(I've had them All) The engine will last a life time, it'll out pull others towing and is good on fuel. I now want a Disco or something like because they're more roomy and a bit more comfortable(I'm a ripple). Regards Rob
Guest oldskool
superstriker,, you wouldnt believe it if you seen it... to every ones surprise they drove it into the studio. all they done was reconnect the battery and put oil back into it. it started with ease and although the chassis was broke in half it still didnt look that bad considering!! Guest The Shaman
At work we use a Landrover Defender LWB (Long Wheel Base) I'm not kidding you I have had that thing stuck in more shite than you would believe. It has a a tank on the back which weighs just under a ton when it is full, so the back axle is running at about 2 ton - gets bogged in easy, thats because the company never though to put off road tyres on it. Anyway I have had that thing on 60 degree angles, in ditches, pushing over small trees, bouncing over train tracks, through bogs, up hills, up to the bonnet in water, Dandyman in the back asleep, and the thing keeps going. My only gripe about the thing (apart from the narrow road wheels_ is that it has a fly by wire accelerator so can stall fecking easy. Other than that it is a solid performer. Not like the Freelander which is a girly wannabe 4x4.
Guest RobW71
I'd sooner take a "Girly, wannabe 4X4" Lamping, than a 110 tank Regards Rob
Guest The Shaman
Wouldn't you rather just take a girly!!!! :11:

lucky 578
a friend of mine makes a living from 4x4's (mainly hi lux and landrovers) he swears by defenders but says that hi lux's are absolutely shite off road. i've never had a defender though or a hi lux but i've driven both and i would have to agree with him. fourtracks are very good of road but lack in space and are only 2 door, i've had a discovery and i thought it was brilliant all round.3.1 troopers are very good but are a bit thirsty on diesel, the chassis always rot on the 2.8 troopers but if you get a good solid one you wont go wrong. i also like range rovers there very comfy and exellent off road.
