nighttimenellie 4
many many moons ago RH2006, we used to make our own toggle slips, you can buy the clips for a few pence(or you could) and use any sort of webbing as a collar, get a cheep nylon lead(flat webbing type) unstitch the hook ,and fold in half lengthways sow up neatly, and attatch to clip, put a hole in your slip clip release bit????, if that makes sence, run a cord from it up through your lead and tie a bit of wood to the end, these worked fine, but to be honest i never liked them , i would rather just have my dog half trained and under a bit of controll, all the best. Make you right there fella. make a loop in a bit of string big enough to get your hand thru, thread the other end thru the d ring of the collar then hold with fingers of the same hand, open hand when ready, hey presto! best slip lead i ever used... danny boi 0
all u need is a lead! if u hold the large loop of a lead in one hand and then double it up and hold the hook in the other u now have a large loop simply put this over the dogs head and you have a slip lead! all you need to do is is let go of the hook but you could even cut off the hook and heat seal it to make sure it dosent catch the dog as you slip. and one last thing try to loop the lead as low on the dogs neck as possible just to make sure u dont cause any damage but any dog should give enough pressure when walking on a slip to make this work. good luck dan Quote Link to post
marko 30
must admit this method is the best i have seen in over 25 yrs with a nylon lead just pulled through the collar as said above quicker than anything. Quote Link to post
Wilky 0
These work very well, easy enough to make, very fast slip. These work very well, easy enough to make, very fast slip. Quote Link to post
Nipper 0
Use one greyhound collar and a leather lead with the clip cut off. Better than fumbling in the dark to release an excited dog, plus in some areas where rabbits are cute seconds are all you have!! Quote Link to post
