as long as your on permission you can catch rabbits wid a dog,but if you've no permission up there you've no reason to be there, if you have permission you need it in writing and also the land owner needs a copy. ;)

We were on permision just on way back home, the permishion is in writing,iv contacted the countryside alliance,

i am well within reason to hunt rabbits with my dogs,he is contacting dumfries and galloway police as he wants

an explination from the officer, :clapper:

Hi its perfectly legal to hunt rabbits with dogs in Scotland again you must have permission from the landowner/farmer etc it does NOT have to be in writing thats the English

hunting act if the policeman continues with this nonsence a letter to the chief constable suggesting better training for his officers may be neeeded if you are a SACS member they will gladly do this for you or if you are in a club get the club sec to do it. ;)

Hi mate If it is council ground.A lot of local council let you hunt rabbit. As they do in my area.If it is give them a phone.Ask them to take your name and address and if you can asks for a written letter of permision.Same if its a local farmer.Mind and keep a photo copy in the house.Next time this P.C Plod bully shows up Show him it .He may grumble a bit but he,ll soon leave you alone.atb.Catcher :victory:
